  • To create a profile, simply visit the recruiting portal’s registration page and fill out the required fields with your personal information, rodeo experience, and athletic achievements. You may also provide links for videos of your performances, highlight reels, or any other media that demonstrates your skills.

  • Yes, creating an athlete profile in the portal is free. However, there are three membership tiers available:

    • Pro Level ($100 per year): Access basic features and connect with others in the rodeo community.

    • Elite Level ($330 per year): Unlock full recruiting tools, including your profile being found in a searchable Member Directory.

    • Recruiter LEvel: This is specifically for coaches to find and evaluate athletes.

While the basic account is free, upgrading to a paid tier gives you more opportunities to connect with coaches and get recruited.

  • While previous experience in rodeo is highly recommended, some schools may also consider athletes with other equine or athletic backgrounds. Coaches typically look for potential, work ethic, and dedication, so don’t hesitate to apply if you are new to rodeo but passionate about the sport.

  • The College Rodeo Portal allows athletes to directly message coaches through their profile.

  • To improve your chances:

    • Keep your profile updated with current achievements and stats.

    • Include videos or images of your best performances.

    • Actively engage with coaches by expressing your interest in their program.

    • Be proactive in reaching out to coaches if you are interested in their team.

    • Maintain a strong academic record, as many colleges require eligibility for both athletic and academic performance.

  • It’s a good idea to start the recruiting process early—typically in your sophomore or junior year of high school. This gives coaches enough time to assess your profile, watch your performances, and evaluate your skills before making offers. The earlier you start, the better chance you’ll have to find the right fit for your athletic and academic goals.

  • Yes, the recruiting portal can help you find scholarships in two main ways:

    1. Scholarships from Coaches: Coaches often offer scholarships to athletes they find on the portal. If you're a good fit for their team, they may reach out with scholarship offers or financial support.

    2. Scholarship Assistance Section: The portal has a special area dedicated to scholarship opportunities, where you can find information about available scholarships, how to apply, and eligibility details.

By using both of these features, you'll have more chances to find scholarships and financial help for your rodeo career.
